"Project Evergreen"-second work-Planning and place selection freezed-March

Place where tree sapling to be planted was finalized near thiruninravur,chennai.Planning to plant ten of them.The group was honored to have a conversation with sathya's father and village head.The plans were decided as how to make them survive the initial growth period and live of a long time.Care will be given to these little baby trees as their lives are respected and considering the fact 'these kids are the only one's gonna save mother earth'.

Visiting "Friends for the needy"-Home for mentally challenged-March

Visited 'Friends for the needy",near ambattur,chennai.We decided way to help these friends would be provided some entertainment.We are planning to conduct musical events.Suresh,sathya,karthi violin,veera were present.

Touchin new heights!-Conducting a free medical camp

Conducted a free medical camp in Thomson school,bangalore(near hosur) for the people who live in the lines of needed .It was combined effort from Thomson educational group,srikrishnasevashrama,towardsbetterworld group.

Summary:

1.Three doctors,four asst,one volunteer .

2.Free medical check ups for general health and diabetic tests.

3.The camp served more than 200 people.

4.More than 50 people tested for blood,HIV and diabetics

5.Free medicines on the doctors advise[medicines 'towardsbetterworld' provided]

6.Health improving medicines were given to visually impaired who are taken care by 'Thomson'group.veera was present.

Needy person was sponsored for dialysis procedure in srikrishna sevashrama,bangalore.veera,vikram were present

Project Evergreen-takes off! on 31-12-2006

With a intention to grow more trees in the planet-Project Evergreen is started by the group.It was started with planting five tree saplings on 31-12-2006 and in next two weeks time about 100 trees saplings will be planted around balagurukulam.Actually it doesnt there..saplings are also little babies...proper care will be given and a nearby person will take incharge to take care of the trees saplings growth.

Vision of the project-Try our best to plant atleast 300 saplings within the end of the year.By the end of ten years we should have completed atleast 30,000 saplings and see them grow into trees.Hopefully the green house effect comes down!

Understanding the complete links and details that made the occasion possible.

Mr.chidamaranathan,president Tamilnadu handicapped federation is approached by veerabahu and collects details .Gets links towards Calladai Motors(which employs 75%physically challenged ).Identification of the cause,reason and cost estimation is done .Group is gathered,discussions made and conclusions arrived.Anand ordinates with badri and sends in the check from USA.

Karthick collects from the group members and handsover it to veerabahu.He makes payment towards calladai motors.Coordination with Mr.Karuppiah ,public relation officer is done to select the right person from 7000 members database.Two persons are selected and Mr.Kota srinivas is invited.Veerabahu and suresh were present on the occasion.

True fighter Mr.Nagarajan-Wheel chair donated towards him

Mr.Najarajan is truely inspiritional person with quite a amount of physically disablity he has found ways to succeed in his life.Its such a pleasure for the group to help him in a small way.He sells bag and hand made materials in adyar.

Wheel chairs donated towards special people

Two Wheel chair were donated to two special individuals in the office of Tamil Nadu handicapped federation on 25-11-2006.

On the behalf of the group Mr.Kota srinivas,Scientist E,CSIO(CSIR campus) gave away the chairs .It is truely a honour for the group for made his presence felt,
Thank you sir .We believe these are true heroes who make up our country and our group will honour such heroes in the near future.

V. Badrinath (Boston, MA, USA) made the donation needed to buy one wheelchair and the another was brought from the groups collection.

Crackers were donated to the kids for the orphanage called amaithillam on 20-10-2006 from the group funds. For the occasion of deepavali 2006.

Communication - Funds Contribution

Objective:
This is regarding the social service activities carried out by some of our friends in the group. Though our friends has been contributing funds to help in this regard, we do not have a formalized list of volunteers. Also we want to create a commitment from our friends which will drive & motivate us in getting stabilized funds on a periodic basis.

Proposal:
We are planning to collect the funds thru different mode on a monthly basis. You can either hand over the amount that you want to donate every month to Veera (or thru any other person who could reach him) OR do an online transfer. Currently, we do not have a fixed account for our group for these activities separately. But we are working on the background to get an individual account dedicated for this which will happen pretty sooner. In the interim, we would like to use Karthik's account for any online transfer that you want to do.

Information:
Friends who live in India can make their online payment to ICICI account & those who live in US could transfer the funds to Bank of America account. Also please mention "Siding Funds" as the transaction remarks when you do an online transfer & send a mail immediately to Karthik mentioning the same @ rkarthik80@yahoo.com. Please remember that you can set an automatic fund transfer as monthly payments with the specified amount. Hence one time action will help in transferring funds automatically on a monthly basis.
